The nature of the Star Of Bethlehem has been pondered by many people over thousands of years. Was it supernatural or natural? Perhaps you have read the second chapter of Matthew in the Bible or contemplated the lyrics of a Christmas hymn and wondered what the Magi saw in the sky about the time Christ was born. Until now many questions are still left unanswered even though they entered Jerusalem confident that they saw “...His Star in the east and have come to worship Him...” They must have had a reason why they believed the Star was His and not a star representing someone else. I am confident that you will be amazed, as I was, to learn a probable reason why. His Star in His Heavens is a complete explanation of the Star seen by the Magi, as told in the second chapter of Matthew. Although many publications and videos have tried to fully explain the Star, only His Star in His Heavens has succeeded. The reason why is because two errors have been corrected - errors that have led both scientists and theologians astray in their reasoning for hundreds of years. Once the date of Herod’s death commonly quoted by the Jewish historian Josephus is corrected to 1 B.C. and the meaning of “weeks” in Daniel 9:25 is also corrected to refer to sabbatical years a most amazing, easily verifiable and God-honoring explanation of the Star unfolds. We will make the case that, like Christ, Who “...was foreknown before the foundation of the world...” (1 Peter 1:20 NASB), His Star was also foreknown before the foundation of the world. I will propose that His Star was conceived by God even before Adam and Eve were created! The loving kindness of our Lord, Savior and Creator, Jesus Christ was declared in the heavens from the beginning before Adam and Eve sinned; the proclamation of His love for mankind began before the heavens existed, before the foundation of the world. If this is so then mankind is not an afterthought to God; His decision to leave heaven, suffer, die and be raised to life again was an act of premeditated love.
We will learn that the Magi already knew before they began their trip to Jerusalem that the birth of Christ would be announced by two very bright astronomical conjunctions - close passes - of Jupiter and Venus. The first in 3 B.C. just before sunrise and the second in 2 B.C. after sunset; this second one led them to Bethlehem. Between those two conjunctions Jupiter also passed the Star Regulus three times; all five conjunctions occurred in the years 3-2 B.C. in the constellation Leo. These 5 conjunctions will provide reasonable explanations for all attributes of the Star stated in the Bible. We will also learn that this same series of conjunctions occurred 62 sabbatical years earlier in 430-429 B.C. which is also the 7th sabbatical year after the last decree to finish the reconstruction of Jerusalem in Ezra and another decree in Esther for the Babylonian exiles to escape extermination so they could return to Jerusalem, giving a very interesting understanding of the 7 week and 62 week Messianic prophecy in Daniel 9:25. In short the Magi in 3-2 B.C. understood what to expect because their ancestors saw the same conjunctions 427 years earlier. Since the same five conjunctions occurred in the same constellation of Leo on two specific prophetic sabbatical years (Daniel 9:25) we cannot escape the fact that the Earth, Venus and Jupiter were initially placed in their specific orbital locations by Jesus Christ when they were created to account for this amazing correlation of the astronomical with the theological. I am very thankful that every conclusion presented here can be verified by anyone possessing astronomical computer software, Bible, and internet. This was, by far, the grandest Birthday announcement ever made, the grandest gift ever given to mankind, for by receiving this gift the doors to heaven have been opened to all who receive it.
